Catherine has been singing professionally for 20 years. While her early influences were revivalist singers, and her first experience was singing in a band, she has been increasingly drawn to the more traditional unaccompanied styles. Catherine is especially drawn to the traditional music of Ireland, and has developed a course to teach an appreciation of the ‘sean nos’ (old style) using recordings of respected traditional singers. Her own singing has developed into a full throated combination of modern expression and old world restraint. She has a large repertoire of unaccompanied songs from the Irish, Scottish and English traditions, many from Canadian collections, that she sings in English.

Dale Russ started playing the fiddle in 1973 when first moving to Washington State from his native Connecticut. Although self-taught – and 100% Slovak – In 1990 he was invited to perform at the first Boston College Irish Music Festival “My Love is in America” featuring 16 of the finest Irish fiddle players living in the States. The concert was recorded and released by Green Linnet Records and won an award from the Smithsonian Institute as “Traditional Recording of the Year”. His playing is known for its balance of power and elegance.

Tom Creegan grew up in Dublin learning in one of the best environments possible, the Pipers’ Club headquarters on Thomas Street. He played extensively in Europe and Canada before moving to Seattle where he started the band as “The Suffering Gaels.” He has long been widely regarded as one of the foremost pipers in North America
